e asked all of a sudden, “What time is it?” then flicked the channel over to MTV, as the network premier of Pseudonym's new single was being aired. Watching him dancing shirtless on a beach soon made her forget the fact that he didn’t want to be friends and she would always be thankful for this night, when he put his arm around her and laid her head on his shoulder, “I don’t want you to be my friend, I want you to be my girlfriend.”
After the music video had ended and he had got her opinion on his dancing and his body, they talked about her needing an operation on her back, “£10,000, I'll pay for that,” he said, but she wouldn’t hear of it, she was fundraising for her operation and her father was working all the hours God sent. Aaliyah was adamant that he would not pay for her operation, so he made her promise she would let him help her fund raise, to that she agreed.
A little after two in the morning her mother reminded her that she had to get up early in the morning, Aaliyah didn’t want this night to end and she wanted to scream at her mother to get out and leave her alone! However, her mother was right, she had to be out of the house by seven to take her mother to work so she had the car for the day. Aaron carried her to the stair lift and when he went to follow her up the stairs she asked him what he was doing? “I'm going to tuck you in” he said with a sweet innocent smile on his face.
He gave her time to get changed for bed, and true to his word he tucked her in, kissed her on the end of the nose, then they both felt the tension and he kissed her gently on the lips, and as the kiss grew in intensity she stopped him, he nodded, he understood.
“Will you be OK driving back tonight?” He nodded and that smile, it was so sweet and pretty and no picture anywhere she had ever seen of him showed how truly beautiful that smile was. “Text me when you get home?” He nodded again, kissed her on the end of her nose and as he got to the door he stopped, “I will be back as soon as I know my schedule!” He blew her a kiss, switched her light off and a few moments later she heard his car engine start and he was gone. A little while later a text came through, 'am home miss u xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'
'miss u 2 xxxxx' she replied.
Aaron didn’t wake up till one pm, and was late getting ready for a fundraiser. He was going to text her, but Bas stopped him, “Let her make the next move, if you’ve not heard anything in four days she’s not interested” Bas advised solidly.
“This is no ordinary situation, she’s probably too scared to make the next move, you’re best messaging her first,” Tomo said.
What to do? Did he message her or wait for her to message him? He couldn’t wait four days! Aaron had never had this problem, he had never liked a girl this way before, girls fell into bed with him then got out the following day and he never saw them again. He always took their number and never called. How long before they realised he wasn’t ever going to call?
Aaron checked his phone every ten minutes during a fundraiser much to the irritation of the organisers.
Aaliyah watched her phone all day, nothing, but hadn’t she known this was how it was going to be? 'You don’t seriously think he’s interested in you do you? You a cripple,’ the voice in her head made fun of her. Aaron had taken all the pics on his phone and promised to send them to her, but he hadn’t and now she had no proof he had ever been there, just a really lovely memory.
Louise went to bingo and Beth came round. Aaliyah sat smiling to herself. Beth asked her why? “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you,” Aaliyah laughed.
“Try me,” Beth challenged, Aaliyah laughed some more.
“SickG is actually AaronG and he came here last night and watched telly with me,” Aaliyah finished. Beth laughed out loud. Of course Aaliyah wasn’t going to add the bit where he'd said he wanted her to be his girlfriend or where they had kissed, she touched her lips instinctively at the memory, then picked up her phone and messaged him.
'Thank you for fabulous memories, I will treasure always' and blocked him. It wasn’t that she wanted to, but that, if he didn’t contact her again, which she assumed he wouldn’t, she wouldn’t have to hurt waiting for him. “See I told you, you wouldn’t believe me!” she said.
“Beautiful dream?” Beth asked.
“Yeah, it seems that way,” Aaliyah said, and the two carried on chatting about how hot AaronG was, how hot Tomo was and how adorable the baby of the pack Bas was.
A little later Aaliyah offered to drive Beth home while on her way to pick up her mother from bingo, this was pretty standard for a Monday evening. Aaliyah got to the front door in her wheelchair and picked up her walking stick intending to walk the rest of the way to the car, Beth opened front door, and afterwards Aaliyah likened it to Beth 'stammered' backwards.
